GM
I woke up in the middle of the night the other week after tossing and turning about an embarrassing spelling error in my last newsletter💀 Don’t tell me if you noticed!!
“Marcel the Shell with Shoes On,” an A24 documentary style film about a shell that wears shoes and lives with his grandma. I walked in with zero expectations and walked out with a swollen face and told every person I’ve encountered to go watch it in the past week.
“Three Women,” a non-fiction novel by Lisa Taddeo exploring the idea of human desire through the narratives of these…3 women.
A new apartment! In a new neighborhood! By! Myself! I wrote about wanting to live alone a while back, so I’m looking forward to the journey of being on my own.
Jean-Michel Basquiat: King Pleasure, an exhibit of around 200 unseen works by the late artist. Curated by his family, it was emotional to hear their voices in installments throughout the space, but a real treat to see some intimate parts of Jean-Michel’s life.
“Get On The Otherside,” Bobby Oroza’s latest album that I play on repeat while I work
The popular, overpriced French restaurant, Balthazar where I split a petite steak and fries with my friend. “Petite” meaning 3 pieces of steak, but I keep thinking about that meal, should I go back😳
The Elizabeth St park hidden in the mess of Soho, so precious + beautiful only to find that the city wants to tear it down!!
“The Summer I Turned Pretty,” the new Amazon show written by Jenny Han on Amazon Prime. I’ll never get enough of cringy teen romcoms, unfortunately.
A very brief but wholesome encounter with Marty, the chess player in Washington Square park, who is more than happy to teach you how to play the game.
I actually don’t think this is that funny but I’m glad it exists. RIP Tony Sirico
